About Us

NALAM empowers vulnerable girls in South India through nutrition, security, shelter, healthcare, education, and skills training. Our volunteer-powered organization provides care and opportunities to orphaned, destitute, and half-orphan girls, aiming to uplift them out of poverty. We believe educated, empowered girls can transform their lives and break cycles of hardship.

How We Work

Founded in Germany in 2014, and launched in the USA in 2023, NALAM was the result of Ute Keller’s transformative visit to India, where she was moved by the pressing needs she saw. Our accomplishments today owe to the generosity of our donors and the unwavering dedication of our local partners.

Your continued support is deeply valued. As a compact team of volunteers, please note that many of our processes are manual. We are proud to be registered as a non-profit in both Germany and the US. Our fund allocation follows a joint process outlined in our “How we unlock funds” section, ensuring we maximize the impact of each donation.

How We Unlock Funds

Drawing from nearly 10 years of experience, NALAM’s mission is to enhance the lives of those in need. We focus on building strong, meaningful relationships with local partners and strategically collaborating with other organizations for amplified project impact.

Our approach involves rigorous project proposal evaluations and follow-ups to ensure sustainable change. Our initial funding was majorly sourced from Europe, particularly Germany, before 2023. However, we are continually seeking new opportunities to broaden our donor base and expand our philanthropic footprint.

As a small yet committed nonprofit, we prioritize maximizing impact and believe in the power of community involvement. We trust our local partners to identify where our support can make the most significant difference, ensuring that every donation is effectively and efficiently used for community development and empowerment.
